For a three-letter word, "art" covers a lot of territory and has more than its share of definitions; I suppose it's because we are all created to create, so each of us has a personal definition.  This ambiguity makes the word an imprecise communication tool but a good reminder of what we all have in common (as long as we don't try to talk about it too long).
